Thursday Thirteen

Ok bear with me folks. I am technology illiterate and my friends and family help me quite a bit so this may not be posted right but I have so much welled up in me I gotta do a post late or not.

November is the month to give thanks so these are the thirteen things I am most grateful for right now:

  1. My Mother who I love dearly and is sick in the hospital right now.
  2. My Father who is a rock and is not scared in the face of her illness.
  3. My Brothers who I love and need everyday.
  4. My Husband who I married 10 years ago today (11-08-97)
  5. My Father-in-law who is also sick in the hospital tonight that I love.
  6. For my Friends who even when they don't understand stick by me.
  7. For the house I am blessed to live in.
  8. For my two puppies who are never mad when I am gone for hours on end.
  9. For all the little ones who bless me with their inner joy and unblemished love.
  10. For the time I have left to spend with all these people.
  11. For the nurses at the hospital that have helped me and my people.
  12. For my nieces and nephews who help me to see the future.
  13. For the Lord my God who has given all this to me. In the brightest moment or darkest hour he comforts me and holds me tight.
Romans 8:38-39 "For I persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."

Hi Ho! Hi Ho! It's Off To Work I Go!

For those who don't know I am a proud member of the Happy Panda team. Pamela Kramer, president and founder of this fabulous new concept, is also one of my oldest and dearest friends. We have known each other for, brace yourselves, 29 years. When Pamela asked me to join her on this endeavor I was excited. The concept has always seemed brilliant to me from the time she mentioned it after the birth of her first son. I was also hesitant as we had not spent this much time together since high school and we are polar opposites. The tortoise and the hare, if you will, but instead of racing against one another we are traveling together. Pamela is the hare moving at a fast pace and pulling me forward with her quick logic combined with business and computer know how. I am the tortoise, taking my time and helping to temper Pamela's enthusiasm and ambitious approach when she needs it. For most of our long friendship things have been this way, however, since we have embarked on this journey it has been surprising to both of us how often we have reversed roles. We seem to have found a comfortable ebb and flow over the last eight months.
Along the way we have learned a lot. For instance, marketing is nearly as important as the quality of your product. We have also made many friends in the small business world who have generously shared their knowledge and experience. After hard work and research we have developed quality products and a size chart that not only accommodates the baby plus size but it offers a true fit for average size babies as well. It has been an adventure we have both enjoyed and I can't wait to see what the future holds for our wonderful friendship and the company we are working so hard to build. So, Hi Ho! Hi Ho! It's off to work I go!

Whoa Nelly!

Ladies this has been a long week but I have had a blast! The response to the Cyber Shower was almost overwhelming but worth every minute spent on the project. Baby showers are one of my favorite events to plan and attend. I will blog this weekend about all the great stuff I learned and all the people I got to know but for now I just wanted to thank everyone. All of you were really good sports and this would not have been such a huge success without each and every one of you.
